I always read the print outs I get with the Rx. I also do a search on any new drug I have been Rx'd by my pdoc. In My Opinion, if we took all that scary info they put out to heart none of us would be taking anything!! So, I would think that your doctor thinks the drug will most likely help you instead of hurt you , otherwise they would not have Rx'd it.
If it turns out you cannot tolerate it then your doc can Rx you something else. Now this is just my experience and opinion.
Why does your doc wanna prescribe this for anxiety? I think there are far safer meds that should be tried 1st before going on thorazine. If you intend to stay on benzos, I personally think xanax is too short acting. Klonopin or valium is much better. The xanax could be what is causing the majority of your anxiety after the effect wears off.
